Surviving the Stone Age

Family Island is fundamentally different from casino games. It is a pure farming and resource management simulator. Your main bottleneck is Energy. Every tree you chop and every rock you smash costs energy. If you manage it poorly, you will find yourself staring at a screen unable to do anything.

1. The Golden Rule of Adventure Islands

Family Island constantly runs "Adventure Islands" (limited-time events). The golden rule is: Do not try to finish an Adventure Island unless you have a massive stockpile of energy (5,000+).

The energy requirements ramp up exponentially towards the end of these events. If you start an event with 500 energy, you will get halfway through, run out, and the event will end, meaning you wasted all that energy for a sub-par reward. If you are low on energy, stick to your Home Island and gather basic resources.

2. Maximizing the Merchant

The Merchant ship is your best source of keys and energy. Always prioritize crafting the items the Merchant requests. Keep your crafting buildings running 24/7. When you go to sleep, queue up the items that take 4-8 hours to craft so they are ready when you wake up.

3. Strategic Harvesting

Never harvest resources you don't immediately need. Your storage space is extremely limited. If you chop down 20 trees but don't need wood, you will fill your storage and be unable to collect essential items like clay or stone. Only spend energy to gather what you need for your immediate active quest.

Conclusion

Family Island is a marathon, not a sprint. By hoarding energy for major events, keeping your crafting queues full, and ignoring unnecessary harvesting, you will progress steadily without ever needing to open your wallet.
